🏛️ Student Leadership & Civic Engagement
• We believe in empowering youth voices and promoting active civic learning alongside their parents. Through local initiatives and community engagement, we encourage middle and high school students to showcase their leadership and problem-solving skills.
• We encourage student delegates and PTSA student members to participate in school improvement teams, Council meetings and advocacy efforts. Colleges are looking for well rounded candidates and PTAs are seeking eager individuals to participate or support our work through parliamentary procedure, purpose, and ideas to enhance community engagement.
• We support regional and state civics initiatives, leadership workshops, and youth community service recognition opportunities as they become available. Our commitment to Harford County students extends beyond graduation. Through our "Graduate and Give Back" initiative, we encourage HCPS alumni, local professionals, and community leaders to remain connected—or return—to our school communities to support PTA initiatives and mentor the next generation.
🎖️ Local Unit & Leadership Awards (Under Development)
Recognizing the incredible dedication of our local unit volunteers, educators, and community champions is a top priority for the Council. We are currently revitalizing our countywide recognition programs to celebrate outstanding PTA service across the district!
• Program Revitalization: Our leadership awards framework is actively being redesigned for the upcoming school year.
• Student Leadership & Internship Opportunity: We are seeking an energetic high school or college student (HCPS alum) to lead/co-lead the development of this program! This project includes designing nomination criteria, drafting award categories, and coordinating community outreach.
