Advocacy & Community

The Harford County Council of PTA serves as an extension of Free State PTA whose mission is to provide support and mentorship to Harford County PTA leaders, students, families, and educators across Harford County Public Schools (HCPS). We work closely with school system leadership, county officials, and local community organizations to ensure every child has access to a safe, supportive, and exceptional educational environment.

🏛️ Legislative & District Advocacy

We represent the unified concerns of Harford County families at the local, state, and national levels:

District & County Engagement: Maintaining an active presence at Board of Education, County Council, and municipal meetings regarding HCPS Operating and Capital budgets.

Prioritizing Local Issues: Coordinating collective concerns across our local units so members can take meaningful action on key educational issues.

Fiscal Advocacy: Demystifying public school funding so parents and leaders can effectively advocate for essential education resources.

Expanding Unit Relevancy: Chartering new PTAs and providing outreach strategies to build strong home-school partnerships across every neighborhood.
